Learn About Us

The formation of Rock of Ages Lutheran Church dates back to October 1979.

A group of people had their first worship service at St. Mathias Episcopal Church in Minocqua on Reformation Sunday after having met together at the home of Rev. Harold Winter, our first pastor.

Meet Our Pastor

 

Pastor Biography  (Rev. Phillip Beukema Jr.)

My family moved to Wisconsin from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan in 1995.  My wife Brandi and I raised our three children in Luxemburg, Wisconsin until July of 2013 when the Lord put it on our hearts to enter into the office of Holy Ministry.  I began classes at Concordia Theological Seminary – Fort Wayne in the fall of 2013 and took my call to Rock of Ages Lutheran Church in June of 2016.  Brandi and I have enjoyed the Northwoods of Wisconsin and fallen in love with the Lakeland community and the members at Rock of Ages.  We thank God each day for allowing us to preach, teach, and care for the lost.  May God be with you and your family as He leads each of you in your vocations.
